Seminarians Cooking

 
A seminary in Japan has started an important new program for seminarians - teaching them how to cook! Food is a great communal event and learning how to cook can be an act of service to others - plus many rectories no longer have cooks so priest often have to cook for themselves. Bobby Flay

A few weeks back we had a post about how Bobby Flay from the Food Network was going to do a throwdown with Fr. Leo Patalinghug. Cooking Priest

Fr. Leo Patalinghug is part of the faculty at Mt. St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg Maryland. Apart from forming young men who are preparing for the priesthood he is also the cooking priest. He has a web show where he teaches recipes but also mixes some spiritual insight into his cooking. His website is Grace Before Meals - there you can watch him cook! He will be doing a throwdown with Bobby Flay on September 9 on the Food Network - take a look at his site for more details. Grace Before Meals is also the title of his new recipe book.
