Two years ago I took part in the campaign in front of an abortion clinic on Kings Hwy in Cherry Hill. It was an incredible experience. Unlike what you see on tv shows, there was no screaming on the part of the "protestors", no graphic photos, no blocking of entrances. We simply stood and prayed - for those going in, for those coming out, for the babies, the moms, the dads and for those working iin the clnic. One friend of mine commented on how stark the clinic looked. It was cold and barren. Women coming out often came out alone, far too often they were just left there to suffer alone. It was not unusual to see a woman sitting on the steps waiting for a ride, obviously upset, while clinic workers taking their cigarette break would stand close buy and ingore her. Those of us praying would have gladly gone over to the woman to hug her and try to help - yes, even after the abortion we wanted to help - but we were prevented by the law. A law that tries to prevent women from having a real choice, a real knowledge of the option of life. Women are hurt by abortion. Men are hurt by abortion. Society is hurt by abortion. And of course, children are hurt. If you have never prayed in front of an abortion clinic, this fall might be the time to join us.
If you have taken part in any of the previous 40 Days for Life campaigns, please post a comment about your experiences.
We have a team here in South Jersey that has signed up for 40 Days for Life again this Fall. We will be praying and fasting and standing in continuous prayer vigil outside the Cherry Hill Women's Center at 502 Kings Hwy N. in Cherry Hill for 40 Days from Sept 23 to Nov. 1st. If you wish to join we take turns, each volunteer cover 1 hr.to pray the Rosary or Divine Mercy on the sidewalk. Some one will be with you. You will not be alone. We must be praying at home and church, but we must also be there where abortions are taking place to offer our prayer support and give the women flyers with a list of crisis pregnancy centers that help them through their pregnany. The number of abortions dropped to 70% less at the end of our last 40 Days for Life and many babies were saved. We were able to reach out to 7 different clinic workers and one of the nurses converted and quit. This is going on in cities throughout America. Tens of thousands of volunteers are changing people's hearts. We can not wait for the government to the stop the evil of abortion or to evangelize, we must do it. This is how we will bring true change to America! To learn more or to sign up to join us visit our Cherry Hill 40 days for Life website at www.AbortionClinicVigil.com.
