October is Respect Life Month with the first Sunday in October (Oct. 2nd) designated as Respect Life Sunday by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Respect Life Sunday is celebrated in the Diocese of Trenton and in all Catholic parishes throughout the United States. This is an opportunity for parishes to focus on the great gift of human life and the increasing vulnerability and fragility of this human life in our society. Abortion, assisted suicide, capital punishment, and embryonic stem cell research all remain threats to the dignity and sacredness of human life.
Read Respect Life issues take center stage in October, from the Sept. 15th issue of the Monitor, about services, activities and events taking place throughout the diocese to commemorate Respect Life Sunday. You will find additional activities on the events tab of www.respectlifetoday.com.
